About TodayWeGame

Steam adds hundreds of new demos every month. Finding the good ones is a full-time job. So I made it mine.

TodayWeGame is an archive of fast, honest Steam demo reviews. I focus on clear verdicts: Play, Maybe, or Skip, so you don't waste your limited gaming time downloading gigabytes of mediocrity.

I play demos early, often within hours of release, and publish before most outlets have even loaded the game. That early coverage is the point. The people who want to know if a demo is worth their time need that answer fast, not a week later.

The verdict system

Play. A Steam demo worth your time. Download it.

Maybe. Functional but didn't grab me. Your mileage may vary.

Skip. Not worth the download.

Who's behind it

I'm Gaspode. Lifelong gamer, now firmly in my gamer dad arc, which mostly means I have less time, stronger opinions, and no patience for mediocre demos.

I've been reviewing games for years and picked up work along the way doing games marketing and data analytics for different projects. I am also an award-winning game designer. The award was $500. The competition was a vibe coding jam. The game was Dungeon Cuties. I'm not taking it off the CV.

My taste is all over the place in the best way. Over 700 hours in Fallout 4 and still not finished it because the side quests always win. A lot of FPS and TPS with 100+ hours in more of them than I can justify. Strategy and building games that have swallowed entire weekends. Currently Battlefield 6 is the go-to brain rot at 80+ hours. I run active WoW subscriptions on both US and EU servers, Classic Hardcore only, and yes the second subscription is backup, don't ask. Not too snobby for mobile either, with plenty installed ranging from hyper casual all the way through to mid-core.

I'll play most things. I just won't pretend the bad ones are good. Nobody pays me to review their demo. Not Steam, not publishers, not the developer.

How a demo gets picked

I pick demos from what's new on Steam and from developers who email me. Asking gets the demo played. It does not buy the verdict. I play long enough to call it, and the time I spent is written on the review. Some demos give themselves away in one sitting. Some need longer. The Play, Maybe, or Skip is mine either way.
