100FRIENDS Steam Demo Review
Verdict: Play
A roguelike that quietly punishes you for not paying attention, then rewards you when you do.
100FRIENDS wraps a bouncing block-clearer around a permanent loss mechanic that quietly shrinks your options run by run. The gardener friend is a good example of how single unlocks can reframe the whole board. The demo runs cleanly and the loop feels natural to pick up and put down.
Pros
- Wormhole mechanic creates genuine strategic tension
- Building layer adds depth without demanding it
- Screen stays readable despite heavy chaos
- Strong mobile-style session length
Cons
- Early runs feel confusing without explanation
- Rarity system misleads new players
- Demo only, no full release date
- Dense information may not scale to smaller screens
