Fright Train Game Demo Review
Verdict: Maybe
Fright Train has a strong premise and sharp aesthetic, but a clunky reload system holds it back for now.
Fright Train has good bones. The premise works, the aesthetic is specific and memorable, and the train survival loop delivers on its concept. The reload system and inventory friction are real friction points, but a 2026 full release gives Wild Arts time to refine both.
Pros
- Distinct and specific visual absurdity
- Solid enemy variety with different approaches required
- Train survival loop is genuinely engaging
- Interesting tension between spending and saving
Cons
- Reload system stops combat dead
- Ammo does not auto-add to inventory after purchase
- Inconsistent zombie grab distance
- Soft lock moments when currency runs dry
