Relic Abyss Steam Demo Review
Verdict: Play
Relic Abyss is a solid bullet hell roguelike that does most things right in a crowded genre.
Relic Abyss is a competent roguelike bullet hell with solid mechanics and real depth, even in the demo. The home village, gear system, and map statues give it more structure than most genre entries. The slow start and crowded Steam landscape are its biggest hurdles, not the quality of the game itself.
Pros
- Good art style
- Tight, responsive controls
- Meaningful progression between runs
- Mid-level decision points break up the loop
Cons
- Painfully slow early game
- Character edges hard to read in tight spaces
- Art tone feels mismatched with gameplay
- Difficult to stand out in a saturated genre
Developer: Reverse Loop
